Hair Straighteners
Thursday, November 13, 2008 19:52Sometime in my late 20’s my very straight hair decided to go curly. Which was fine, because my hair was fine and a little body is nice. But as I got older, it was harder to tame the curls without a lot of product. Especially since it’s hard to find good hair products that are also natural, organic or at least with as few toxins in it as possible…
So I decided to look for hair straighteners. After talking to my hairdresser, she said the best kind to get were with ceramic plates. Steel plates can snag the hair. So I ended up paying too much for the one I have (not salon quality, but for that price it should be!), but it works. Still have to section my hair and dry it with a flat, wide brush. Then straighten the bits that are stubborn!
I do want to point out that if I blow dry and use the straightener, I end up using way less product than scrunch drying the curls. And NO hair spray - of which I have yet to find an organic earth friendly version of that works.
If you are looking for a clever Christmas gift for a lady in your life (mother, wife, daughter etc), consider a salon quality cheap hair straighteners. You’ll be a Hero!
