Naturally Savvy

I was reading my morning twits (twitter.com, social media DOES matter) and automatically went to the tinyurl (link) a new follower had left. Enter Naturally Savvy, a huge resource site on all things natural living. I really had to blink twice, the topics and articles I scanned at a glace cover everything *I* wanted to know about in going green and living naturally. I recognized, immediately, what a great resource site it is.

Right on the front page in purrfect placement for latest news, is a video about Essential Fatty Acids. Of course I clicked and watched it. While everyone seems to know, or has heard that you need EFAs (and where to get them; fish and supplements), I bet the average person doesn’t know why. It seems that we get plenty of Omega 6 in our diets, but not enough Omega 3. It has been suggested that this Omega 3 deficiency may be directly related to many diseases and conditions, particularly those that involve inflammation, like the many forms of arthritis. This was of particular interest to me, I’ve suffered with chronic pain the last 10 years, or more. And I hate fish, I know I lack in EFAs.

I will be going back to the health food store this weekend to get a reputable (hopefully Canadian) Omega product. I was already out of our daily vitamins and low in glucosamine too. Be sure that I’ll also visit Naturally Savvy often! I can’t wait to read more on what they have to offer. I already see an article on too much estrogen and raw diets, two subjects I am really wanting to read more about.  There is even a section for Pets!

Just an update on this post. I came home from work today and noticed I had a slip from the Post Office to say I had a parcel. I couldn’t imagine what it could be, so I went straight over. It was a gift from Myea at Nordic Naturals Products. Naturally Savvy had mentioned to the Marketing Coordinator at Nordic Naturals about this post.

They sent me some Omega 3 and some Cod Liver Oil made for cats. Since I have multiple cats, I put a few tablespoons in a dish and they love, love, love it! Who knew?!

Thank you very much Myea :)
